It was back to reality, with five horses running at Gatcombe, only four of which ran across country – all jumping clear.
Show jumping was Oliver’s nemesis, however – A Sportsfield Diamond was the only one to leave all the coloured poles in their cups, finishing 25th in a big CIC1* section. Miss Cooley took 7th place in her novice section, with both Fernhill Freestyle and Menlo Park 14th – the first in a novice and the latter in the CIC2*.
