Memorable rides

Oliver has been lucky to compete some remarkable horses during his career. Whilst no longer competing, they played a big part in Oliver’s success over the years. Below are some of them…

Armada: a horse like no other – Oliver once described Armada’s instruction handbook as being ‘written in chinese’. Career highlights include taking the runner up spot at Badminton 4* (now 5*), finishing 4th at Burghley 4* (now 5*) and winning the British Open Championships.
Fenyas Elegance:
winner of Ballindenisk CIC3* (now 4*) and the horse who took Oliver to the 2015 European Championships.

Flint Curtis: the pair represented GB at the 2006 WEG and the 2007 Europeans, winning team gold. In 2009 they won Badminton 4* (now 5*).
Imperial Master: masses of ability, and capable of anything on his day. He gave Oliver a first, two seconds and a third at 3* (now 4*) level.
Neo de Breuil: a winner at Chatsworth and third at Bramham, a real favourite of Oliver’s.
Outside Chance: consistently in the ribbons at Advanced, he placed 8th at Blenheim 3* (now 4*).
Ashdale Cruise Master: a winner at 3* (now 4*), and 5th at Luhmuhlen 4* (now 5*), he was the horse most famous for Oliver’s crunching fall in Lexington when riding for the Grand Slam.
