Oliver and William Fox-Pitt flew over to New York last weekend to take part in the inaugural US Open $50,000 Arena Eventing competition.

Riding borrowed horses – Oliver had Indian Mill, William rode Prince Renan – the British pair took third place, in front of a sell-out crowd.

Captain Mark Phillips designed the course, and Oliver admitted: “For William and me both, the biggest setback was remembering our way! We went over it again and again and again. This is just an unbelievable setting and a privilege to be here. I’m very grateful to Mark and the whole team for having us here, we’ve enjoyed this experience tremendously.”
