Following selection for the European Championships Oliver withdrew Ballagmor Class from the Open Championship, and only did the first two phases with Cooley Master Class – who posted a good 25.4 dressage score and showjumped clear. He also withdrew Clifton Signature after the showjumping.

Arklow Puissance was the only horse in the money, finishing 4th in the Intermediate Championships courtesy of a double clear.

Meanwhile, Newmarket Caro, Miss Cooley and Patrickswell Scorpion all had quiet rounds, furthering their education around tough tracks.
