The novices were out in force at Swalcliffe. A foot perfect performance in the jumping phases gave Melody Chillout a win, while King Edward of Barrells collected just a smattering of cross country time penalties to his score, for a fifth place.
Also in the ribbons, with a rail down, was On Song who was having her first run at the level, and another novice first timer, Leedaun Guy, finished 14th with 8 to add from the showjumping.
