Whilst disappointing that the horses due to run on Saturday round the intermediate track had to make the long trip to North Norfolk only to literally drive in and drive out due to cancelled classes after heavy overnight rain, at least the international classes were completed.

Oliver will have to wait another year to pitch for his 16th 4* win, Tregiler ran really well to finish third. He added just 0.4 of a cross country time penalty to his 30.2 dressage score. Swallow Springs slotted in to third place with a 27.8 dressage score, one rail down and 1.6 cross country time penalties, while Ballaghmor Class managed 14th even with a steady round, thanks to a 25.6 dressage.

In the 3*, Finley du Loir was also 3rd with a dressage of 26.9 and double clear, adding just a few time penalties.

They were both big classes (86 in the 4* and 110 in the 3*) so great results all round and, most importantly, a run for the Badminton boys – the weather this year has not been kind to riders or organisers this year.
