Oliver and Armada were first into the dressage arena, in front of the Ground Jury – Mrs Sandy Phillips, Mrs Jennie Lorriston Clarke and Mr Ernst Topp.
The pair posted a score of 51.7 (65.55%)
Oliver can now relax until Sunday morning, when he will again be first out, this time tackling Hugh Thomas’s cross country course.
