Harthill is a new international breeding centre being developed by Oliver Townend and Nina Barbour. The Stud is based on the Bolesworth Estate in Cheshire and the Harthill team is currently seeking planning permission to build a £1 million world-class equestrian centre which will be home to some of the world’s most exceptional stallions.
Harthill will be sited at a redundant farm in the historic village of Harthill and plans include stabling and accommodation for 75 horses, on-site veterinary facilities; a full size indoor training arena with viewing gallery; and exercise and welfare units. The Stud operation will be headed by Nina, who helps to manage the Bolesworth Estate. Nina joined the estate team following the death of her father in 2007.
Oliver said: “It’s our aim to breed world-class event horses for British and international riders. I have competed successfully around the world on many horses with Irish heritage and at Harthill we would like to harness that Irish tradition within our state-of-the-art facilities to produce the eventing champions of the future.”
