Last week Oliver took some of his horses to do dressage at Somerford Park which is about an hour and a half from the yard, which meant an earlier start than the usual 6.30 am! We took ten horses in total with Steven, Jess and Oliver all riding.

When we have a busy day like that it means that the day before I have to make sure all the horses are trimmed up and looking smart, as well as bath and plait them all. Generally the horses are well behaved at competitions which makes my job a lot easier. I had two greys with me which take a little longer to get ready than the others!

I have also been preparing my visa application and paperwork for our trip to Kentucky in April, as I am hopefully going to be flying with the horses on the way back which will be interesting as I’ve not flown with them before.

This weekend we went to Isleham for the first event of the season. The horses all went really well and have come home and all trotted up nicely this morning. They get a much deserved day off the day after they have competed before they are back in full work again in preparation for the next event.
